Catholic Charities is honored to be a part of the rebuilding of the homes for the former residents of Pinhook. Their homes were destroyed in 2011 when a levee on the Mississippi River was blown to control flooding elsewhere. Although they had flood insurance, it did not cover because it was a man-made event rather than a natural disaster. https://www.semissourian.com/story/2479957.html   A group of former Pinhook, Missouri, residents sing a rendition of the Lord's Prayer at a groundb

HOLISTIC APPROACH With our holistic, family strengthening approach, an effort is made to look at the individual’s total situation. Or perhaps a history of addiction leads to bad decisions.  Sometimes there are other problems within

Volunteer Highlight!

Volunteer Highlight! This wonderful group from Ozark United Methodist Church went to Joplin with us on a very rainy day to load our two box trucks and their trailer with construction materials. They returned to Springfield with us and unloaded into our new warehouse. This project was overwhelming for our staff but these volunteers came in and knocked it out in one trip! Our volunteers are the hands and feet of what we do at Catholic Charities. If you are looking for volunteer opportunities

Thank you, SEAS School!

I went to see some of the children at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School this morning to thank them for their donation to LifeHouse Crisis Maternity Home last week. The school held a baby shower for LifeHouse as part of Catholic Schools Week. They filled our hallways with enough diapers and wipes to supply our new moms for several months! And if that wasn't enough, their teachers spent an evening together making blankets for us. It took two vans to bring everything to us! We are all are overwhelmed
