Tax Credit Opportunities

What is a Tax Credit?

A tax credit is different from a deduction—a credit has the same value as cash.
A tax credit is deducted, dollar for dollar, from what you owe in income taxes to the State of Missouri during a taxable year. This amount is in addition to the regular state and federal deductions you are eligible to take for charitable donations.  Best of all, 100% of your donation is available to LifeHouse Crisis Maternity Home to inspire our moms to create better lives for their children.

Here’s How it Works:

  1. Make a $100 to $100,000 contribution to LifeHouse Crisis Maternity Home and let us know you want to claim tax credits.
  2. Complete the Maternity Home Tax Credit Application that is mailed to you with your gift acknowledgement and return the completed application to us for processing.
  3. We will complete our portion of the application and forward it to the Missouri Department of Social Services for processing.
  4. The Director of the Missouri Department of Social Services will send a Certificate of Tax Credit directly to you within 45 days of receipt of your application.
  5. You will include your Certificate together with Missouri Tax Form MO-TC when you file your tax return.
  6. Any portion of the tax credit unused in the year donated may be carried forward to the next four years.

For more information and information on available tax credits, please contact Mandy Long, Chief Development Officer, (417) 720-4213,

*Tax credits are awarded based on the date of the donation. A specific dollar amount of tax credits are allotted to LifeHouse each year by the state. Once exhausted, tax credits may no longer be available for that tax year.
