Volunteers Make A Difference!

custom4Immediately after the devastating F5 tornado hit Joplin on May 22, 2011, there was a tremendous outpouring of support from all over the country.  It truly is inspiring to see so many come to the aid of others.  The caring response has touched the hearts of many, including Maura Taylor, Executive Director of Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri, who said "I was reminded of 'the good Samaritan' who did not turn his face away from those in need."

Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri has coordinated and placed over 22,000 volunteers on clean-up, repair, and rebuild projects.  In all, these volunteers have donated over 129,000 hours of their time and talent to help their neighbors in need.

While much progress has been made, there is much more work to be done.  Would you like to lend your time and talents?  All help is greatly appreciated, but we are in particular need of skilled labor such as plumbers, construction workers, and electricians.  If so, please contact Amy Rogers, at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
